Introduction
And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her Seed. He shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel.”
— Genesis 3:15, SRT
This is the first announcement of the war that runs through Scripture: serpent against woman, serpent’s progeny against woman’s progeny, wounded heel against wounded head, temporary suffering against final conquest.
Yet because this verse is immense, it must be handled under discipline. The phrase “your progeny” must not be forced to carry what Scripture does not place upon it. It must not be inflated into biological serpent-seed, secret bloodline, ethnic accusation, racial suspicion, or fatalistic genealogy.
The Scriptural Inference Decontamination Methodology is necessary here because it distinguishes faithful inference from contaminated inference. Faithful inference remains tethered to the written witness, speaks in proportion to the evidence, and submits to correction; contaminated inference adds, distorts, fictionalizes, or presses Scripture into the service of human tradition, fear, desire, or speculation.
The question, then, is not what may be imagined from the word “progeny.” The question is: What is written? What does Scripture later identify? What may be necessarily inferred? What must be rejected as addition?
The decontaminated answer is plain: the serpent’s progeny are not a biological serpent-race, ethnic bloodline, or secret genealogy. Scripture identifies them by spiritual fatherhood, works, allegiance, deception, murder, hatred of righteousness, religious counterfeit, resistance to Christ, and war against those who observe God’s commands and cling to the evidence of Jesus.
They are not discovered by blood.
They are manifested by fruit.
I. What Genesis 3:15 Says — and What It Does Not Say
Genesis 3:15 directly says four things. First, God will cause antagonism between the serpent and the woman. Second, God will cause antagonism between the serpent’s progeny and the woman’s progeny. Third, the woman’s progeny narrows to a singular He. Fourth, that singular He will wound the serpent’s head, while the serpent wounds His heel.
This much is direct Scripture. Therefore, the existence of a serpent-progeny opposed to the woman’s progeny is not speculation. It is written. The promise that a singular He will wound the serpent’s head is not speculation. It is written.
But the direct text does not define the serpent’s progeny biologically. It does not say the serpent physically begets a human bloodline. It does not identify an ethnic class. It does not authorize secret genealogy. It does not give men permission to accuse races, nations, or peoples by flesh.
To add those claims would be to supply what Scripture has not supplied.
Therefore, the first claim may be retained: Genesis 3:15 identifies a serpent-progeny opposed to the woman’s progeny.
The second claim must be rejected: Genesis 3:15 teaches a biological or ethnic serpent-line.
The first is written. The second is added.
II. Evidence Grade Under the Methodology
The methodology requires claims to be assigned their proper evidentiary rank because much error comes from treating all claims as though they carry the same weight. Direct statement, repeated witness, necessary inference, probability, speculation, and contradiction must not be treated as equal.
- Grade A — Direct Scriptural Statement: There is antagonism between the serpent’s progeny and the woman’s progeny.
- Grade A — Direct Scriptural Statement: The woman’s progeny culminates in a singular He Who wounds the serpent’s head.
- Grade B — Repeated Scriptural Witness: The serpent’s progeny are identified by works, spiritual fatherhood, deception, murder, unrighteousness, falsehood, counterfeit religion, and opposition to Christ and His faithful.
- Grade C — Necessary Inference: The serpent’s progeny is a spiritual and moral lineage of allegiance rather than a biological bloodline, because later Scripture repeatedly defines “children of the Devil” by practice and also teaches that men may be transferred from Satan’s power to God.
- Grade F — Contradiction / Contaminated Speculation: The claim that Genesis 3:15 teaches a biological serpent-human race, ethnic serpent-seed, secret genealogy, or immutable blood-caste.
This evidence grading permits the doctrine Scripture establishes while forbidding the doctrine men have imagined.
III. Cain Is the First Open Manifestation
After Eden, the first great manifestation of the serpent-line is not a serpent biting a man. It is Cain murdering Abel:
Then Cain said to Abel his brother, “Let us go into the field.” And when they were in the field, Cain rose up against Abel his brother and killed him.

John interprets Cain directly:
not as Cain, who was of the evil one and slew his brother. And for what reason did he slay him? Because his works were evil, and those of his brother were righteous.

This is decisive. John does not say Cain was biologically begotten by the serpent. He says Cain was “impelled by the Wicked One.”
Cain is therefore not a biological explanation of Genesis 3:15. He is the first open manifestation of the serpent’s progeny by works: wicked practice, hatred of righteousness, refusal of correction, and murder of the righteous brother.
The serpent corrupts God’s word. Cain murders the righteous. Both works belong to the same father. The line is already moral and spiritual.
IV. Christ Defines the Line by Spiritual Fatherhood
John 8 is the controlling passage because Christ distinguishes physical descent from spiritual fatherhood.
I know that you are the seed of Abraham; yet you seek to kill Me, because My word has no place in you.
— John 8:37, SRT
Christ acknowledges physical descent from Abraham. But He denies that physical descent establishes true spiritual sonship:
They answered and said to Him, “Abraham is our father.” Jesus said to them, “If you were children of Abraham, you would do the works of Abraham.
— John 8:39, SRT
Then He gives the terrible diagnosis:
You are of your father the Devil, and you desire to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning and did not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks falsehood, he speaks from his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of falsehood.

This passage forbids biological overreach.
Christ can say they are Abraham’s offspring in one sense, while also saying their father is the Devil in another. Therefore the fatherhood in question is not fleshly descent, but spiritual likeness, desire, practice, and allegiance.
The marks are explicit: murder, falsehood, rejection of truth, and resistance to Christ. The serpent’s progeny are known by serpent-works.
V. John 8 Must Not Be Weaponized Against a People
Christ’s indictment in John 8 may not be turned into a racial accusation against Israel, Judah, Jews, Hebrews, or any people according to the flesh.
Why? Because Christ Himself acknowledges physical descent from Abraham while distinguishing it from spiritual fatherhood. Because Christ according to the flesh comes through Israel. Because the prophets were of Israel. Because the apostles were of Israel. Because the earliest faithful witnesses of Christ were of Israel. Because Paul distinguishes flesh from promise not to authorize contempt for a people, but to exalt the promise and mercy of God.
John 8 indicts those who plot murder, reject Christ’s word, and do the Devil’s works. It does not license hatred of a people by descent.
To make John 8 into racial doctrine is to commit the very contamination this article rejects: addition, system-pressure, and fleshly overreach.
The issue is not blood. The issue is works.
VI. John Names the Two Lines
I John makes the Genesis 3:15 category explicit:
The one who practices sin is of the Devil, because the Devil sins from the beginning. For this reason the Son of God appeared: that He might destroy the works of the Devil.

Then John gives the diagnostic distinction:
By this the children of God and the children of the Devil are revealed: everyone who does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is the one who does not love his brother.
— I John 3:10, SRT
The children of God and the children of the Devil are manifest. They are made visible by practice.
The children of God are manifest by righteousness and love. The children of the Devil are manifest by sin, unrighteousness, and hatred.
Then John returns to Cain as the prototype: “not being impelled by the Wicked One, as Cain was…” Therefore the serpent’s progeny are not hidden in bloodline. They are revealed by works.
VII. The Sons of the Wicked
Christ’s parable of the weeds confirms the same division:
The field is the world, and the good seed are the sons of the kingdom; but the weeds are the sons of the evil one.

Then Christ identifies the enemy:
And the enemy who sowed them is the Devil, and the harvest is the completion of the age, and the reapers are angels.

Here again, the division is not presented as ethnicity or fleshly genealogy. It is Kingdom versus wickedness, God’s sowing versus the Devil’s sowing, final harvest under divine judgment.
The sons of the Kingdom belong to the King. The sons of the wicked belong to the enemy.
VIII. Serpent-Language in Religious Clothing
The serpent’s progeny does not always appear as open lawlessness. It often appears as religious counterfeit.
But seeing many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming for immersion, he said to them, “Brood of vipers! Who showed you how to flee from the coming wrath?

Serpents! Brood of vipers! How will you escape the sentence of the Valley of Hinnom?
— Matthew 23:33, SRT
Matthew 23 shows the traits of this serpent-line in religious form: outward righteousness, inward uncleanness, exalted titles, obstruction of the Kingdom, hypocrisy, murder of prophets, and hostility to those sent by God.
This is not biological serpent-seed doctrine. It is prophetic identification of serpent-works under religious clothing.
The serpent began by twisting God’s word. His progeny may continue that work in robes, offices, schools, councils, pulpits, and traditions.
IX. Paul Warns of the Serpent’s Continuing Method
Paul explicitly connects the serpent’s method in Eden to later corruption among believers:
But I fear lest, as the serpent deceived Eve by his cunning, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in the Anointed One.

The serpent’s continuing work is corruption away from purity toward Christ. Paul then identifies religious agents of such corruption:
For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of the Anointed One.

And no wonder—for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.

This is a necessary witness. The serpent’s progeny may appear as light. It may claim apostolic form. It may speak religiously while corrupting devotion to Christ.
Therefore the diagnostic test must include doctrine and fruit, not appearance.
X. Elymas Gives an Apostolic Example
Paul says to Elymas:
and said, “O man full of all deceit and all fraud, son of the Devil, enemy of all righteousness, will you not cease perverting the straight ways of the Lord?
— Acts 13:10, SRT
This passage gathers the marks: deceit, villainy, enmity against righteousness, and misrepresentation of the Lord’s straight paths.
Paul does not identify Elymas by race or bloodline. He identifies him by works.
A son of the Devil is known by devilish works.
XI. The Woman’s Seed Culminates in Christ
And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her Seed. He shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel.”

The singular He points to the Messiah. Paul identifies the singular Seed in the Abrahamic promise:
Now the promises were spoken to Abraham and to his Seed. He does not say, “And to seeds,” as of many, but as of one, “And to your Seed,” who is the Anointed One.

Christ is the promised Seed.
His heel is wounded in suffering. The serpent’s head is wounded in defeat.
The cross is not the serpent’s triumph. It is the serpent’s defeat through the temporary wounding of the promised Seed.
XII. The Woman’s Offspring Includes Those Who Belong to Christ
Christ is the singular Seed, yet those who belong to Him are included in the promise through union with Him.
For you are all sons of God through faith in the Anointed One Jesus.
— Galatians 3:26, SRT
And if you are the Anointed One’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to promise.
— Galatians 3:29, SRT
Romans distinguishes flesh from promise:
That is, the children of the flesh are not the children of God, but the children of the promise are reckoned as seed.
— Romans 9:8, SRT
Revelation gives the final picture:
And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and went away to make war with the rest of her offspring, those who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus.
— Revelation 12:17, SRT
This is the final-canonical identification of the woman’s remaining offspring.
They are those who observe God’s commands and cling to the evidence of Jesus.
The woman’s Seed is Christ. The woman’s remaining offspring are those who belong to Him.
XIII. The Serpent’s Progeny Is Not Biological Fatalism
The biological serpent-line theory must be rejected not only because Scripture fails to state it, but because Scripture teaches the possibility of transfer from Satan’s power to God.
But as many as received Him, to them He gave authority to become children of God—to those who believe in His Name,

Then John denies bloodline as the cause:
who were begotten, not of blood, nor of the will of flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
— John 1:13, SRT
Paul’s commission is:
to open their eyes, to turn them from darkness to light and from the authority of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those sanctified by faith in Me.’
— Acts 26:18, SRT
Colossians says God:
who rescued us from the authority of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of the Son of His love,
— Colossians 1:13, SRT
Ephesians says believers formerly walked:
in which you once walked according to the age of this world, according to the ruler of the authority of the air, the spirit now working in the sons of disobedience.
— Ephesians 2:2, SRT
Yet God:
even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with the Anointed One—by grace you have been saved—
— Ephesians 2:5, SRT
Therefore “children of the Devil” is not a genetic prison.
It is allegiance, practice, and spiritual fatherhood.
Christ can deliver men out of it.
The line is not blood. The line is lordship.
XIV. The Diagnostic Test
The faithful may test works, but may not invent bloodline accusations.
- Does this person, doctrine, office, system, or spirit corrupt God’s word?
- Does it practice falsehood?
- Does it oppose righteousness?
- Does it murder, persecute, or hate the righteous?
- Does it resist Christ?
- Does it disguise itself as religious light?
- Does it divert men from faith?
- Does it misrepresent the straight paths of the Lord?
- Does it war against those who observe God’s commands and cling to the evidence of Jesus?
These are Scriptural questions.
Unlawful questions are:
- What race is this?
- What bloodline is this?
- What ethnic class may be blamed?
- What secret genealogy can be imagined?
Those questions import what Scripture does not establish. They are contaminated.
The biological serpent-line claim fails the compact field test because it cannot be located in direct Scripture, cannot be separated from speculative inference, cannot survive contrary testimony, and cannot be concluded proportionally. The methodology’s own field test requires a claim to be stated, located, separated, weighed, tested, purified, and concluded proportionally before it is bound upon conscience.
XV. Decontamination Findings
- Retain: Genesis 3:15 establishes enmity between the serpent’s progeny and the woman’s progeny.
- Retain: The woman’s Seed culminates in Christ.
- Retain: The woman’s remaining offspring are those who observe God’s commands and cling to the evidence of Jesus.
- Retain: The serpent’s progeny are later identified as children of the Devil, sons of the wicked, spawn of vipers, sham apostles, deceivers, enemies of righteousness, and those who war against the woman’s offspring.
- Retain: They are known by works, not blood.
- Retain: Those under Satan’s power may be turned to God through Christ.
- Retain: The faithful may discern serpent-works, but must not invent serpent-bloodlines.
- Reject: A biological serpent-race doctrine.
- Reject: A racial or ethnic serpent-seed doctrine.
- Reject: A secret genealogy doctrine.
- Reject: A fatalistic serpent-line doctrine.
- Reject: A permission-to-hate doctrine.
These rejected claims are not doctrines to refine. They are contaminants to reject. The methodology’s final decision protocol requires unsupported, fictionalized, tradition-driven, or contrary claims to be rejected rather than left in circulation under borrowed authority.
XVI. The Relationship to the Brass Serpent
This inquiry strengthens Old Brass and the Lifted Son.
Genesis 3:15 explains why the serpent-sign matters. The serpent wounds, but the promised Seed conquers.
Numbers 21 shows the judged looking upon the lifted sign and living.
John 3 reveals that this points to the Son of Man lifted up.
Revelation reveals that the old serpent is conquered by the blood of the Lamb.
The brass serpent is therefore not isolated. It belongs to the same war announced in Eden.
The serpent wounds the heel. The Seed wounds the head. The bitten look and live. The faithful look to the Lifted Son and receive eternal life. The old serpent is defeated.
XVII. The Seed’s Victory Is Shared With the Faithful
The victory belongs to Christ, but Scripture also shows the faithful participating in His triumph.
And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet soon. The grace of our Lord Jesus the Anointed One be with you. So be it.
— Romans 16:20, SRT
This is the victory of the Seed extended to those who belong to Him. The woman’s offspring do not crush the serpent apart from Christ. They participate in His triumph because they are His.
Revelation says:
And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony; and they did not love their lives, even to death.
— Revelation 12:11, SRT
The victory is not by bloodline, human strength, violence, or worldly power. It is by the blood of the Lamb and faithful witness.
XVIII. Final Decontaminated Thesis
The serpent’s progeny in Genesis 3:15 are not a biological race descended from the serpent, nor an ethnic class to be blamed, nor a secret genealogy to be discovered. They are the visible spiritual lineage of those who do the serpent’s works: corrupting God’s word, practicing falsehood, murdering or persecuting the righteous, resisting the Messiah, disguising themselves as religious light, diverting men from faith, misrepresenting the straight paths of the Lord, and warring against those who observe the commands of God and cling to the evidence of Jesus.
Cain is the first open manifestation. The Devil is the father. The children of the Devil are known by unrighteousness and hatred. The sons of the wicked are sown by the Devil. The woman’s Seed culminates in Christ, and Christ’s faithful are the woman’s remaining offspring.
Yet this lineage is not biological fatalism. The Gospel turns men from Satan’s power to God and transfers them from darkness into the Kingdom of the beloved Son.
XIX. Conclusion: The Heel and the Head
Genesis 3:15 announces the war. Cain manifests it. Christ exposes it. John names it. Paul warns against its counterfeit light. Elymas displays its deceit. Revelation shows the dragon still warring against the woman’s offspring.
But Scripture does not authorize bloodline speculation. It does not authorize racial accusation. It does not authorize hatred. It does not authorize fatalism.
The serpent’s progeny are known by serpent-works. The woman’s Seed is Christ. Those who belong to Christ are made children of God, not by blood, but by God Himself.
Therefore the doctrine must be stated only as Scripture states and requires:
The heel is wounded.
The head is crushed.
The Seed conquers.
And those once under darkness may be turned from Satan’s power to God.
